It's Mommy's Birthday!

The 3rd significant woman in my life, my mother-in-law, celebrated her birthday yesterday. I was still awake when the clock ticked 12MN so I immediately texted her a simple birthday message. She sent a 'thank you' reply early morning the next day.

I'm not really that sweet or close to her. In fact, I restrain myself when I'm with her because like me, she has a dominant personality. Two dominant women have the tendency to clash so I keep myself on check, although I observe she does the same too. Besides, she has a distinct personality which both hubby & me couldn't fully comprehend. Moreover, like my own mother, she whines too often (which I'm trying to understand because apparently this is common to most older women). Although I'm able to handle Nanay better because I can easily make her shut up, change her mood & mindset.

Anyhow, she's significant to me because without her my other half, bestfriend & hubby would have not existed in this world. Besides, if she did not raise hubby that well, I would have a problematic marraige to date. She seem to have inculcated in him the right principle & values regarding managing relationships and life in general.

I don't say my husband is perfect. He is far from being one. Just like any man, he also committed shameful mistakes! He is a work in progress! (Mind you I'm more knowledgeable in carpentry & plumbing than him.) I believe he was too sheltered & pampered too at some point in his growing up years that he's handicapped in managing his personal & domestic life without me. Hehehe! But he's sweet, understanding & loving. Home buddy. No vices. He's amazingly very patient & calm too just like my eldest & youngest brothers.

Overall my hubby is a fine husband. (I hope a good father too, when we finally have kids). I would have regretted marrying him if Mommy failed to build his character . That's why although Mommy remains a mystery to me, I'm very grateful to her!

Happy birthday, Mommy!
