Slowly becoming real

I've long been wanting to have a backyard beaming with select herbs and veggies. But since I live in Manila, I thought it was impossible.

Now, in my new home in Paranaque the impossible has turned possible! I managed to have a backyard! Big enough to accommodate what I've been wanting to plant. The okra we recently planted on one of the beds are about 6 inches tall now. They are growing fast! But we had to surround each heap with sticks to protect the growing seedlings from our naughty puppy, Sid. The tomato that my bro ignored in the past is now bearing fruit. It managed to produce 6 medium-sized tomatoes. I accidentally shook it yesterday though, so two fell. The ampalaya is full grown now. I harvested two of its fruits last week. But they were small. So am now working on making the soil fertile through the help of the dried manure from our pigs in Bicol.

Yes, you heard me right. My bro brought a sack of pig manure all the way from Bicol.

More on my garden on my next post.
